Eighties, I'm living in the eighties
Eighties, I have to push, I have to struggle
Eighties, get out of my way, I'm not for sale no more
Eighties, let's kamikaze till we get there
And we sang
You do it this way
Eighties, by day we run by night we dance, we do
Eighties, I'm in love with the coming race
Eighties, I've got the best, I'll take all I can get
Eighties, I'm living for the eighties
Eighties, I'm living in the eighties, I push
Eighties, I'm living
Eighties, I'm living in the eighties, I struggle
Eighties, I'm living
Eighties, I'm living
Eighties, I'm living in the eighties
Eighties, I'm living in the eighties, I push
Eighties, push, push, struggle
Eighties, I'm living
Eighties, eighties, I'm living
Eighties, I'm living in the eighties, I push
Eighties, push, push, struggle
The Stranglers — Always The Sun
How many times have you woken up and prayed for the rain ?
How many times have you seen the papers apportion the blame ?
Who gets to say ?
Who gets to work and who gets to play ?
I was always told at school, everybody should get the same
How many times have you been told if you don't ask you don't get ?
How many lads have taken your money? Your Mother said you shouldn't bet
Who has the fun ?
Is it always a man with a gun ?
Someone must have told you if you work too hard you can sweat ?
There's always the sun
Mmmm
There's always the sun
Always, always, always the sun
How many times have the weathermen told you stories that made you laugh ?
You know its not unlike the politicians and the leaders, when they do things by halves
Who gets the job ?
Of pushing the knob
That's what responsibility you draw straws for if you're mad enough
There's always the sun
Mmmm
There's always the sun
Always, always, always the sun
Well you didn't wake up this morning
'Cause you didn't go to bed
You were watching the whites of your eyes turn red
The calendar on your wall
Is ticking the days off
You've been reading some old letters
You smile and think how much you've changed
All the money in the world
Couldn't buy back those days
You pull back the curtains
And the sun burns into your eyes
You watch a plane flying
Across the clear blue Sky
This is the day
Your life will surely change
This is the day
When things fall into place
You could've done anything
If you'd wanted
And all your friends and family
Think that you're lucky
But the side of you they'll never see
Is when you're left alone with the memories
That hold your life
Together like
Glue
You pull back your curtains
And the sun burns into your eyes
You watch a plane flying
Across the clear blue Sky
This is the day
Your life will surely change
This is the day
When things fall into place
This is the day (this is the day)
That your life will surely change
